Course Objectives:
|
A. To provide a general background for other mission courses by introducing basic missiological concepts, methodologies and strategies.
B. To encourage the development of positive attitudes, methods and skills of missiological reflection needed by pastoral workers in diverse, multi-cultural settings for effective witness and evangelism.
C. To develop a deeper awareness of the changing values in America and help each pastor develop an understanding of how to do ministry in this changing situation.
D. To develop leaders who welcome diversity and who see opportunities in the changing situation in America and in peoples of various cultural backgrounds.
E. To develop a clear vision of the unfinished task of God’s mission to the world, of the global mission of the SDA Church, and of the local church’s mission as part of the global mission of the SDA Church.
F. To deepen the awareness of problems and opportunities Adventists face in mission and develop a perspective that takes understanding the local context of mission seriously.
